Celebration Of The Day Of The Dead – Photoshoot

All photos in collaboration with Christina Sanchez Photography

Last year I was in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and had gotten to experience Día De Los Muertos there. It was my second time experiencing it in Mexico and is the best beautiful celebration I have seen. You can read last year’s blog post here Dia de Los Muertos 2017 and the history of this day and how it’s important in the Mexican culture.

Christina Sanchez asked me to do a photoshoot with her and I couldn’t say no! I have known her for years and when we get together to shoot it always turns out great! Two hours of makeup and some fun costume dresses and Christina’s magic and our shoot was drop DEAD gorgeous!

Día de los muertos celebrations starts October 31st and ends on November 2nd. Altars are made to celebrate our loved ones that have passed on. On the altars you would display beautiful marigold flowers, Pan de Muerto, candles and anything that your loved one liked while alive.

If you would love to experience some Día de Los Muertos festivals in California here are some that I recommend:

Día de Los Muertos Festival at Hollywood Forever Cemetery

Riverside Day Of The Dead

Long Beach Day Of The Dead Festival

Olvera Street Los Angeles

Santa Monica Did De Los muertos celebration
