Hey Chicas/Chicos , thanks so much for following me along here on my blog and on instagram and facebook and even though I just started blogging only a couple of months ago, I thought it would be fun to write a blog post about me, so that you can get to know the lovely chica, so here it goes…
Where are you from and how old are you?
I was born and raised in Los Angeles California and in my jr. high years moved to Rancho Cucamonga California. I am 35 years old and will be turning 36 next month, insert OMG emoji face right here.
Do You Prefer Living in the US or Mexico?
I obviously love California because I grew up there and what is there not to love about Cali, the weather is always great and there is so much to do! Living in Mexico has been an experience that I know I will get to look back on this once I’m older. Mexico is obviously a little different but I have always traveled to Mexico since I was young so I´m used to the country and feel like it’s my second home.
Why are you living in Mexico?
My hubby & I moved here in October 2017 so that he can expand his real estate business. He is opening a call center office in Puerto Vallarta Mexico. He has had this business for 2 years and his first office is in San Miguel de Allende, where rent a home there as well.
You live in Mexico, do you speak spanish?
I grew up speaking spanish fluently because my grandparents only spoke spanish and when they passed away I didn’t speak it as much as I used to since I only spoke english at home and kinda lost it. Then I married my hubby who is fluent in spanish and now I´m getting back to speaking it and living here in Mexico has helped, even my family says my spanish is getting so much better.
What Part of Mexico is My Favorite City to Visit?
I love love love San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. The old cobblestone streets, hacienda style homes and the old spanish doors and buildings. If we could we would live there and if you visited SMA you would fall in love with it too.
What Are 3 Things You Can´t Live Without?
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Besides go shopping?? I love to read and do DIY crafts and cook. I find recipes all the time on pinterest and crafts to do too! So far I haven’t had a Pinterest fail yet! Here is my favorite book of all time The Nightingale: A Novel and I recommend it to all my friends or anyone that asks about a great book to read.
I love your clothes, where do you shop?
Okay I have always had a love for shopping since as long as I could remember, I would like to thank my grams for this. She would take me to Macys every Saturday so she can buy suits for work and we would spend the whole day at the mall. So since then I had a love for fashion and keeping up with the latest styles. I love to shop at Macys, Target, Marshalls (my all time favorite store) H&M and Amazon.com I know that I don’t post many high end clothing like many other fashion bloggers out there but I like to shop for me which is the everyday person.
What were you doing before you started your blog?
I have worked in the Education administration field for about 12 years and was working at a Charter School in the Business Department. I do miss my work gals and still keep a close contact with them all the time.
How did you come up with your blog name?
I really wanted to incorporate my name but everything I came up with was already taken and sometimes my hubby calls me Chica so there you go, The Lovely Chica was born.
What inspired you to start your blog?
When I knew we were going to be moving to Mexico I really wanted to share my experience of living here and also write about all my other favorite things that I like to share with people I love.
