In collaboration with SUP Yoga Vallarta
If you have never taken a Stand Up paddle board yoga class, what are you doing with your life? Okay, that’s extreme and I’m just kidding.
I’ve taken yoga classes before but never on a Stand Up Paddle board so when Sasha reached out to me asking if i would like to try a class I was excited and couldn’t resist.
When I first moved to Puerto Vallarta I had found SUP Yoga Vallarta on Facebook and I told myself that one day I would try it as I’m always looking to try anything and all things that have to do with staying active and fit whether it’s hiking, surfing, CrossFit or taking a dance class.
So I gotta tell you that I’m not a Yoga expert at all! I’ve taken a once a week yoga class at the gym back at home in California and always loved that good Yoga stretch but I haven’t taken Yoga in almost about a year now so I was worried I was going to be rusty and expected to be off balance and be that one person in class falling in the water 20 times but Sasha teaches in a way that even the non yoga lover would fall in love right then and there and appreciate it.
I can’t tell how relaxed and fun it was at the same time. Yes, I know that seems like it doesn’t make sense but it was. I guess it was more of a challenge that made it fun. Talk about using your core muscles, to keep your balance you definitely have to engage your core the whole time.
Sasha has been teaching yoga for about 12 years so she is an expert at making sure you are relaxed and shows you modified options as well. She is such an excellent and sweet yogi that you would just want to become her instant friend.
If you visit Puerto Vallarta on vacation you must give SUP Yoga Vallarta a try, I promise you that you won’t be disappointed!
